Why Isn’t My Website Showing Up on Google?

You built a website, but when you search for your business, it is nowhere. This is one of the most common problems local businesses run into, and it usually comes down to a handful of fixable reasons.

Your site is too new

Google takes time to find and index a new site. If yours launched recently, it may simply not be in Google’s index yet. You can check by searching site:yourdomain.com in Google. If nothing comes up, Google has not indexed it, and submitting your sitemap in Google Search Console helps it get found.

You have not set up local SEO

Ranking for local searches like plumber Sudbury takes more than having a website. You need a Google Business Profile, consistent business details across the web, and reviews. Without those, it is hard to appear in the map results where most local customers look. This is what Google Map SEO handles.

Something is blocking Google

Sometimes a setting tells Google not to index the site at all. Slow load times, broken links, and missing page titles also hurt. These are usually quick to fix once you know they are there, but easy to miss if you are not looking for them.

Your pages are not written for search

If your pages do not use the words your customers actually type, Google has nothing to match them to. Clear titles, headings, and content written around real searches make a real difference.

What to do next

Start by checking whether your site is indexed and setting up your Google Business Profile. If you are still stuck, an SEO audit shows exactly what is holding you back. We do this for Sudbury and Northern Ontario businesses and explain every fix in plain language.
